Lucas Jardin

Lucas Jardin’s work questions the links between color and space, abstraction, and urban landscape.

His compositions are inspired by models stereotyped by our societies: statistics, images, symbols… which for him function as pedestals that enable paintings to be activated. The gesture of painting is perceived there as dynamic emancipation acting within the systems. Color plays a main role here in the form of expanses punctuated by abbreviated compositions that bring together horizontality and frontality. Nouveau Jardin has developed a series of murals based on a study by Eva Heller about the psychology of color, appropriating these emotional concepts by deploying them in space in such a way as to make sociology resonate with architecture, color with the body.

His work has been the subject of various exhibitions in Paris, New York, Brussels, Berlin…
