De zwarte steen kwam uit de schistgroeve in Bertrix en werd met de hand uitgezocht. Hij werd eerst geolied om de steen te verzegelen en te beschermen, en vervolgens geborsteld om zijn natuurlijke matte uiterlijk te behouden. De prachtig gelaagde structuur voegt een verbazingwekkende textuur toe om te ontdekken terwijl je zit, en cre\u00ebert een plek voor contemplatie.<\/p>\n<p>Het onderliggende principe van deze collectie was de zoektocht naar een manier om natuurlijke materialen te presenteren met de bedoeling een zintuiglijke ervaring voor de gebruiker te cre\u00ebren. Een aluminium structuur dient als bouwstenen en biedt een sterk contrast met het organische, natuurlijke materiaal dat in elk meubel wordt getoond.<\/p>\n<p>Mijn onderzoek begon met een manifest over het huidige, lineaire ontwerpmodel dat leidt tot een overvloed aan afval. Ik wilde dit afvalprobleem aanpakken, dat deels wordt veroorzaakt door een gebrek aan verbondenheid met onze bezittingen. De bedoeling van de collectie was om de verbinding met de natuur te herstellen door de zintuiglijke ervaring van de natuurlijke materialen die in elk stuk aanwezig zijn.<\/p>\n<p>Het aluminium frame begint als de bouwstenen voor een collectie meubels met de titel CONTEMPLATION\/\/REST\/\/NURTURE. Het frameprincipe wordt hier gebruikt in combinatie met een plaat schiststeen om een bank\/bijzettafel te vormen.
