Joseph Diongre’s iconic building, located on Place Flagey in Brussels, has found its place in the city. No one is unaware that it housed the National Institute of Broadcasting (INR) at its creation, but what happened there, what was produced there, evokes at best, only bits of scattered memories. Who still remembers that this “sound factory” was one of the first Radio Houses in Europe? It took the interest and curiosity of the Canadian historian Nicolas Kenny, attached to the country of origin of his grandparents, and his meeting with a seasoned host of the INR, Charles Van Hauteghem, for the cultural history of the famous “liner” to finally be addressed.<\/p>\n
