Description

some … things is a book co-published by CFC and ISELP, dedicated to the work of Icelandic artist Gudny Rosa Ingimardottir, on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition dedicated to him at ISELP.

Silence, restraint and economy of means make up the universe of Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir. Her studio is both a cabinet of curiosities and an experimental laboratory where the artist shapes the materials available to her. Scraps of paper, cutouts of preciously preserved previous works, little words, traces, memories … So many scattered fragments that metamorphose and come together through a subtle alchemy, to form a singular universe where nothing is ever frozen.

Gudny Rosa was born in 1969 in Reykjavik (Iceland). She studied at the Icelandic College of Art and Crafts in Reyjavik in the early 1990s. She then continued her training at La Cambre (Brussels) to finish it at HISK-Hoger (Ghent). She lives and works in Brussels while being very active on the Icelandic scene.
